We are glad to share the news about Baltic Worlds journal Special Issue “Confronting Muted Memories: Reading Silences, Entangling Histories” which was published in January 2021. The Issue grew out of the international symposium “Prisms of Silence” organized at the Estonian Academy of Arts (21.-22.02.2021). Its contributions discuss the possibilities of reconstructing silenced histories in the 20th century Baltic region of memory through art, literature, oral histories and creative engagement with monuments. A special focus in the articles is on the perspectives of minorities and women. Edited by Margaret Tali and Ieva Astahovska, this issue includes contributions by artists Zuzanna Hertzberg, Kati Roover, Paulina Pukytė, Lia Dostlieva, Andrii Dostliev and researchers Giedrė Jankevičiūtė, Elisabeth Kovtiak, Jan Miklas-Frankowski, Rasa Goštautaitė, Margaret Tali and Annika Toots.
